The Aintree mid-rise breeches from Caldene are made from a four way stretch woven fabric & feature a normal knee patch made of the same material as the breech (self-fabric).

They have a mid-waist fit and a lightweight close contact leg cuff to ensure the perfect fit under riding boots. The front of the breeches features a zip & hook fastening for security. This style is often used on suede saddles by show riders & pleasure riders alike.

Lisa’s notes: These smart, workmanlike breeches are great for competitions or every day. The fabric has a nice sheen and helps prevent dirt & hair from sticking to it.

The self-fabric knee patch is often preferred over a full seat when riding in a suede saddle to prevent getting “stuck” in it.

I found these breeches were more generous in size compared to the Hartpury. I normally take a UK 26” waist but although I am 5ft 6”, I am long in the body so in these had to go up a size to the 28”.

In general, Caldene do tend to come up smaller than other breeches with the exception of their woven breeches such as the Carter.

The mid-rise style means they sit below the natural waist line at approximately 7”. Therefore, I would still advise even if you are not long in the body that you go up one size from your normal. If you would like further measurements or guidance however please do call!
