Lisa's notes: If the thought of winter fills you with dread then what you need are base layers! I always used to suffer with chilblains throughout the colder months until I started wearing thermal leggings and tops. Now as soon as the weather starts to turn I start wearing them and then I do not have any problems.

I like these particular ones as they come with elasticated stretch zones which not only allow for complete freedom of movement which is particularly important when you're riding but also helps prevent the bagginess that can sometimes occur in cheaper versions. The fact that they come in a graphite colour means they are suitable for both males and females. They also make a great gift as many people forget there are alternatives to freezing throughout the winter and will be eternally grateful to receive a set of these. They may not be the most glamorous purchase you have ever made but when you're sitting there all toasty and smug you'll be glad you forked out!!
